ASCOM marks 51st founding anniversary

The Philippine Army Support Command (ASCOM), under the leadership of Maj. Gen. Glenn E. Cruz, marked on April 22, 2022, its 51st founding anniversary anchored on the theme "51 Years of Sustaining the Force, Providing Selfless Service Towards a Stronger Philippine Army" at the ASCOM Multi-Purpose Hall, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., led the unit’s anniversary celebration that is highlighted by the awarding of outstanding ASCOM officers, staff, and civilian human resource.

In his keynote speech, Lt. Gen. Brawner cited the crucial role of ASCOM units in supporting ground forces in the military’s five-month campaign to defeat ISIS-inspired terrorists that occupied Marawi City in 2017 and its deployment of 21 military trucks that delivered aid to Odette-hit areas in the Visayas and Mindanao late last year. The Army Chief also underscored ASCOM’s essential role in the fulfillment of his thrust to push-down much-needed resources to Army units nationwide.

“As Team ASCOM commences another year of service guided by the virtues of servant leadership, may you continue to steer the Army towards greater organizational success,” the Army Chief remarked.

ASCOM is tasked to cater to the Philippine Army Major Units’ requirements in terms of firepower, transportation, organizational, and maintenance of equipment in support of the accomplishment of the Army’s mission.
