Army athletes win big in Rizal off-road race

The Philippine Army athletics team dominated three categories of the Be Trail Ready’s XTrail Run held in Barangay San Andres, Tanay, Rizal on April 24, 2022.

Staff Sergeant Allen C. Quisay won gold in the 12-kilometer male category while his teammate Corporal Rene D. Desuyo emerged as champion in the 8-kilometer male category. Meanwhile, Corporal Rowell G. Hulleza bagged bronze in the 21-kilometer male category.

The trail race started at the barangay hall of San Andres and traversed the trails of Mounts 360, Palad, Matalinis and Batolusong. Around 400 runners from Rizal, Metro Manila, and nearby provinces competed in the race's three categories.

Special Service Center (SSC), Installation Management Command Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun commended Army trail runners for winning big in both on-road and off-road running competitions. The SSC chief has committed to provide world-class training facilities and ample support to Army athletes to further hone their skills.
