The Philippine Army hosted a welcome reception for the ASEAN Armies delegated in the Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) 2022 on April 27, 2022 at the Diamond Hotel, Manila.
The ceremony was opened by the Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong. Afterwards, it was followed by a group cultural presentation and sharing of stories from the guests. The reception ended through a wine toast led by the Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.
In his closing speech, Lt. Gen. Brawner mentioned that the ADAS 2022 provided a venue to gather and reaffirm the special bond, bilateral and multilateral linkages which are all deeply rooted in shared goals of attaining the peace and prosperity in the region.
“Through combined initiatives, we can end violent extremism and terrorism, ensure security and operational effectiveness, and enhance our overall humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities,” the Army Chief stated.
