Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., and Royal Cambodian Army Deputy Commander Lt. Gen. Mao Sophan talked on fostering stronger ties between the two armies at the sidelines of the 2022 Asian Defense and Security (ADAS) at the World Trade Center, Pasay City on April 28, 2022.
Lt. Gen. Brawner and Lt. Gen. Mao discussed the possible creation of an Army Working Group that would serve as a basis for future Army-to-Army exchanges and bilateral activities. The CGPA said that he is looking forward to the signing of the Army-to-Army Terms of Reference that will serve as an instrument to further support both armies’ current and future operations.
The Army Chief also relayed to Gen. Mao the Philippine Army’s willingness to host Royal Cambodian Army officers who are willing to undergo the Command and General Staff Course handled by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Command and General Staff College.
ADAS 2022 featured 156 exhibitors that showcased latest weapons systems in 13 country pavilions. The three-day exhibit focused on the needs and requirements of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) armed forces, police forces, and disaster response agencies.
