Philippine Army athletes bagged medals in recently concluded Albay cycling and Pasig badminton competitions from April 30 to May 1, 2022.
Sgt. Laarni M. Casilao and her teammate placed first runner-up in the Women’s Doubles/ Level E of the Gameville Badminton Tournament held at the Double Play Badminton Court, Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City on April 30, 2022.
Meanwhile, Sgt. Alvin Benosa of Philippine Army Cycling Team won silver medal in the elite category and another bronze medal in the open elite category of the first-ever Devel Project Crosscountry Cup held at the Cagsawa Ruins, Barangay Busa, Daraga, Albay on May 1, 2022.
It can be recalled that Army athletes dominated last month's Rizal trail race, Pasig athletics tilt and Manila dragon boat competitions that saw the action of finest athletes from all over the country.
Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun commended Sgt. Casilao and Sgt. Benosa for excelling in their chosen sports. The SSC Director reiterated his commitment to provide top-notch training facilities to further hone the skills and sporting prowess of Army athletes.
