Army’s 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) contingent renders a courtesy call on CGPA

Army athletes who will represent the Philippines in the 31st edition of the Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) rendered a courtesy call on Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
A total of 21 Army athletes are set to compete in the 31st SEAG scheduled in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 12 to 23, 2022. Army athletes will participate in sporting events including athletics, badminton, basketball, kurash, rowing, sepak takraw, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, and chess.
It can be recalled that Army athletes brought pride and honor to the country after winning scores of gold, silver, and bronze medals in the 30th edition of SEAG from November 30 to December 11, 2019. Team Philippines dominated the biennial regional sporting competition in 2019 after bagging 387 medals which included 149 golds.
Lt. Gen. Brawner called on the Army athletes to continue to bring honor not just to the organization but to the country as well. The Army Chief has vowed to provide ample support and world-class training facilities to further hone the skills and prowess of Army athletes.
