Philippine Army mounts PMA exhibit

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army mounted an exhibit that showcased its latest assets and equipment to capacitate troops in a spectrum of military operations at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), Fort Gregorio del Pilar, Baguio City on May 12, 2022.

The event, which is part of the line-up of activities to mark the graduation of PMA “Bagsik Diwa” Class of 2022, is geared at encouraging members of the cadet corps to join the country’s land force.

The Army Support Command showcased its individual and crew-served weapons, mobility equipment, and other equipment used in Explosive and Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) operations.

Meanwhile, the Army Intelligence Regiment featured bomb-sniffing and attack dogs; the Civil-Military Operations Regiment showcased its Loudspeaker Operations Team and Hijab Troopers; the Army Signal Regiment put on display its cyberwarfare capabilities and communications equipment; while the Aviation Regiment displayed infographics on its air assets and capabilities.

The 525th Engineer Combat Battalion of the 51st Engineer Brigade also featured its collapsed structure search and rescue and water search and rescue equipment while the Army’s elite forces—First Scout Ranger Regiment, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), and Light Reaction Regiment—showcased their latest high-powered rifles and other weapon systems.

A total of 104 graduating cadets of the 214-strong PMA Class of 2022 is set to join the Philippine Army, the AFP’s largest and oldest branch of service. The graduating class is composed of 165 men and 49 women. #
