Army installs new Adjutant

The Philippine Army installed a new head of the Office of the Army Adjutant (OAA) in a Change of Chief of Office Ceremony at the Army’s main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on May 17, 2022.

Acting Army Vice Commander and concurrent Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong presided the turnover of the office symbol to Col. Moises M. Nayve, Jr., from outgoing OAA Chief Col. Bernardo R. Fortez, Jr., who will now assume as the Adjutant General, Armed Forces of the Philippines. Both men belong to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sambisig” Class of 1991.

Col. Nayve holds a Masters in Public Management from the Development Academy of the Philippines and a Master in Defense Analysis from the National Defense College of the Philippines. Col. Nayve also held diverse military positions such as Commandant of the Special Forces School, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne); Commander of the 4th Special Forces Battalion; Chief of Academy Staff of the PMA; Deputy Commander of SFR(A) and Deputy Brigade Commander of the 902nd Infantry Brigade, 9th Infantry Division prior to his assumption as the new Army Adjutant.

Meanwhile, outgoing Army Adjutant Col. Fortez holds a Master’s degree in Public Management and Master in National Security Administration. He also completed the Command and General Staff Course in 2011 at the AFP Command and General Staff College.

Maj. Gen. Capulong, in his keynote speech, called on Col. Nayve to focus on the implementation of the Philippine Army Unified Clearance System (PAUCS), a vital sub-system of the Philippine Army Human Resource Management Information System. PAUCS aims to ensure the convenient and easy release of clearances to PA personnel.

“Col. Nayve, I am confident that you will perform your best as you take another step forward in your military career as a special staff to our Commanding General on all matters pertaining to the administrative and personnel service of the Philippine Army,” Maj. Gen. Capulong said in keynote speech.
