Army athletes grabs 2 more medals in Hanoi

May 17, 2022 - As the 31st SEA Games 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam continue to roll, our inspired Army athletes has once again confer two more bronze to the overall medal garnered by the country in wrestling and sepak takraw events.

Sergeant Noel N. Norada clinched the bronze medal in the Greco-Roman wrestling (67-kilograms category) while Sergeant John John M. Bobier secured the bronze medal in sepak takraw’s Best Regu category. Sepak takraw also known as kick volleyball is the national sports of Malaysia.

Army athletes have contributed to the Team Philippines' overall medal haul in the 31st SEAG, after winning medals in wrestling, sepak takraw, rowing, hurdles, and kurash, a type of upright jacket grappling which originated in Uzbekistan. The team has a total of 21 proud Army Athletes who compete in the biennial regional sporting meet which is set to culminate on May 23, 2022.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., once again lauded the Army's SEAG contingent for bringing glory not just to the military but to the country as well. The Army Chief has vowed to provide each Army athlete with ample support and topnotch training facilities, in line with his command guidance “SERVE.”
