Army athlete shines in 31st SEA Games lawn tennis

An Army athlete and his teammate bagged the silver medal in the men’s lawn tennis double’s event of the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Hanoi, Vietnam on May 21, 2022, further contributing to Team Philippines’ medal.
 
Private Jeson Patrombon and his teammate Mr. Francis Alcantara settled for silver in the all-Filipino tennis doubles finals against the duo of Treat Huey and Ruben Gonzales.
 
Army athletes have so far contributed four silver and nine bronze medals to Team Philippines’ medal haul after scoring podium finishes in lawn tennis, beach volleyball, chess, wrestling, sepak takraw, rowing, hurdles, and kurash.
 
“Carrying the flag and fighting for the pride of our country in Southeast Asia's biggest sporting event is indeed a great task. I commend you all for bringing glory and pride to our organization and to our nation, “ Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. told Army athletes who are representing the Philippines in the 31st SEAG.
