73IB, 11RCDG hold capability demo to Davao Occidental ROTC cadets

The 73rd Infantry Battalion (73IB) of the 10th Infantry Division and the 11th Regional Community Defense Group of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA) held a capability demonstration to 96 Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets at the 73IB headquarters in Barangay Feliz, Malita, Davao Occidental on the 21st of May 2022.
73IB troops performed capability demonstration to familiarize the Southern Philippine Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology's ROTC cadets with squad combat operations. ROTC cadets were also given a glimpse of R4A1 rifle assembling and disassembling and marksmanship training.
ROTC is one of three components of the National Service Training Program program. ROTC is designed to provide military training to college students to train, organize, and mobilize them for national defense preparedness. Graduates of the Army ROTC programs of higher educational institutions become reservists under RCPA.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., has earlier said that the command is seeking to recruit quality reservists that will effectively complement regular ground forces.#
