CGPA attends 10th Land Forces of the Pacific 2022 Symposium in Hawaii

Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., met with key Indo-Pacific military leaders to strengthen ties and to discuss possible partnerships in the 10th Land Forces of the Pacific (LANPAC) 2022 Symposium and Exhibition in Honolulu, Hawaii from May 17 to 19, 2022.

LANPAC is an international event hosted by the Association of United States Army (AUSA) that brings together government and industry representatives from U.S. allies in the Indo-Pacific region. This year’s edition of the symposium is anchored on theme “Strengthening Alliances and Partnerships: How Land Power Contributes to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.”

Lt. Gen. Brawner was accompanied by Philippine Army's Office of the International Military Affairs Chief Col. Ferdinand Rey G. Ga; Philippine Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training, G8, Col. Arsenio D. Sadural; Philippine Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans, G5, Col. Benjamin L. Leander; and Philippine Army Command Sergeant Major Chief Master Sergeant Rogelio P. Caacbay.

The Army Chief and the PA delegation attended various plenary sessions on meeting and preparing for future challenges; lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic and environmental challenges; the importance of joint and coalition readiness; combined and joint training in the Indo-Pacific Region; multi-domain operations; and missile-defense systems.

Lt. Gen. Brawner, on the sidelines of the three-day event, held bilateral meetings with Heads of Delegations from other participating nations to discuss mutually important matters. The CGPA and ranking U.S. Army leaders also discussed possible capabilities that can be acquired by the PA.
