The Philippine Army joins the nationwide observance of the Philippine National Flag Days beginning today, May 28 until June 30, 2022.
The Philippine Flag decked street lamps lining major roads as well the entrance of buildings at the Army's main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
The Philippine Flag Days' observance is part of the 124th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Philippine Independence on June 12, 2022. This year's celebration is anchored on the theme “Kalayaan 2022: Pag-suong sa Hamon Ng Panibagong Bukas (Rise Towards The Challenge Of A New Beginning)".
The Filipino nation will mark this year’s Independence Day as the country prepares to welcome a new set of leaders and as it gradually recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The Philippine Flag is the epitome of what we ought to serve and secure—the Filipino people and our nation," Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., said in a statement.
