An Army swimmer bagged the bronze medal in an aquathlon competition in Cabangan, Zambales on May 29, 2022.
Sergeant Gil Martin Gonzales of Philippine Army Swimming Team placed 3rd overall out of the 80 participants in the H2OMAN Aquathlon. H2OMAN is a series of open water swimming events to promote various beaches across the Philippines.
Sgt. Gonzales’ podium finish comes in the heels of Army athletes' victory in the 31st Southeast Asian Games held in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 12 to May 23, 2022.
Army Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded Sgt. Gonzales for his bronze medal finish in the Zambales aquathlon. The SSC Director likewise called on Sgt, Gonzales and other Army athletes to sustain their winning momentum as they bring honor and glory not just to the Philippine Army but to the country, as well.
