Bangladesh defense attaché fosters closer ties with PA

Bangladesh’s non-resident attaché Commodore Mostaque Ahmed rendered a courtesy call to the Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., to foster closer ties between the two armies on June 1, 2022 at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
 
Commodore Ahmed lauded the long history of professionalism of the 125-year-old Philippine Army and relayed the Bangladesh Army’s intentions to learn from PA’s best practices. For his part, Lt. Gen. Brawner expressed his intention to strengthen bilateral ties between the two armies. The Army Chief and Bangladesh’s defense attaché also tackled possible areas of cooperation in training and education.
 
Lt. Gen. Brawner likewise relayed to Commodore Ahmed his willingness to assist in the approval of the Memorandum of Understanding on Defense Cooperation and in forging an Army-to-Army Terms of Reference that will be the groundwork for further cooperation between the two armies.
