Team Army dominates 2022 AFP-PNP-PCG Little Olympics

Team Army composed of Army personnel and civilian employees’ dependents aged 17 years old and below clinched the overall championship of the 2022 Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police-Philippine Coast Guard (AFP-PNP-PCG) Little Olympics that culminated on June 3, 2022 at the Lapulapu Grandstand, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

Team Army dominated the overall ranking after bagging gold in basketball junior division, badminton and obstacle relay. The team also clinched silver in boys’ volleyball, girls’ volleyball, and modern dance tournament. Team Navy and Team General Headquarters placed first runner-up and second-runner up, respectively.

It can be noted that the lowering to Level 1 of the Covid-19 alert status in many parts of the country has opened up opportunities for the resumption of many sporting activities.

Special Service Center Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded Team Army for topping the 2022 edition of AFP-PNP-PCG Little Olympics. The SSC Chief said the goodwill games fostered sportsmanship and camaraderie among the young athletes even amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
