The Philippine Army hosted a testimonial dinner for outgoing Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana at the Philippine Army Officers Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on June 7, 2022.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., thanked Sec. Lorenzana for supporting the thrusts and the modernization of the Philippine Army during his six-year stint as Defense Chief.
”The Philippine Army has acquired game-changer equipment and big-ticket items under the Horizon 2 of the AFP Modernization Program. These will surely bolster the conduct of combined arms operations and enable our entire force to win against various threat groups across the archipelago,” the Army Chief said.
“Indeed, sir, you have exemplified your personal motto of ‘Love your work and just do your job” which certainly signifies your exemplary brand of incomparable service as a devoted servant-leader of the Filipino people,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said in his remarks who also led a toast for the outgoing Defense Chief.
Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte appointed Sec. Lorenzana as the 36th Secretary of National Defense on June 30, 2016. Sec. Lorenzana brought to the department his expertise in national defense and security, special operations, foreign military affairs, public diplomacy, veterans’ affairs and strategic leadership.
