The Philippine Army (PA) Band, hand in hand with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) performers and other guests, serenaded the public in a free concert dubbed as “Musikalayaan 2022” at the Rizal Park Open Air Auditorium in Manila on June 10, 2022.
The PA Band teamed up with the Saint Joseph Band 98 of Bailen, Cavite as Musikalayaan 2022’s front act. The PA Band then performed an eight-minute drill exhibition featuring a medley of OPM and foreign hits.
Musikalayaan 2022 is part of the series of activities organized by the AFP and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines to celebrate the Philippines’ 124th Independence Day which is anchored on the theme “Kalayaan 2022: Pag-suong sa Hamon Ng Panibagong Bukas (Rise Towards The Challenge Of A New Beginning)".
The PA Band is a distinguished military musical group that performs during the Army’s command ceremonies and other national events. The band gained a substantial online following for its “JAMdemic” series, a regular Facebook livestream featuring the band’s rendition of throwback and contemporary hits as well as original compositions.
