Army joins AFP-led testimonial parade and review for SND Lorenzana

The Philippine Army joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines-led testimonial parade and review in honor of outgoing Secretary of National Defense Delfin N. Lorenzana at the Lapulapu Grandstand, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City on June 28, 2022.

5th Infantry "Star" Division Commander Maj. Gen. Laurence E. Mina served as troop commander while the Security and Escort Battalion of the Installation Management Command joined the division-sized dismounted contingent that honored the 36th DND chief.

It can be recalled that the Philippine Army acquired game-changer equipment and big-ticket items under the Revised AFP Modernization Program's Horizon 2 during the term of Sec. Lorenzana.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., in a testimonial dinner held in Fort Bonifacio for Sec. Lorenzana earlier this month, said the newly acquired defense assets will bolster the conduct of combined arms operations that will enable the military to eradicate threat groups and other peace spoilers.

Sec. Lorenzana assumed as the 36th Secretary of National Defense on June 30, 2016. He brought to the department his expertise in national defense and security, special operations, foreign military affairs, public diplomacy, veterans’ affairs and strategic leadership.
