Army honors outgoing Tabak Division Commander

The Philippine Army honored outgoing 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Generoso M. Ponio —whose military service spanned more than 38 years—with arrival honors at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on July 1, 2022.
 
A company-sized contingent rendered arrival honors for Maj. Gen. Ponio who was then received by acting Army Vice Commander and concurrent Army Inspector General Maj. Gen. Roy M. Galido at the Silid Andres Bonifacio of the HPA Complex.
 
Maj. Gen. Ponio belongs to Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Maringal” Class of 1988. An Airborne and Scout Ranger, the Tabak Division Commander is a well-rounded military officer with vast expertise ranging from operations, intelligence, and training.
 
Maj. Gen. Ponio took helm of the Tabak Division in January 2020. He also served as deputy chief for operations of AFP Western Mindanao Command; commander of Joint Task Force Ranao where he played a crucial role in the rehabilitation of war-torn Marawi City; and commander of the 103rd Infantry Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.
 
Maj. Gen. Ponio is set to bow out of service on July 8, 2022 after more than 38 years of military service.
