Army athletes shine in La Mesa obstacle course competition

Two Army athletes bagged medals in the Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation’s (POSF) Ultra Obstacle Course Race and Trail Run at the La Mesa Nature Reserve, Novaliches, Quezon City on July 9, 2022.
 
Corporal Ailene O. Tolentino emerged as champion in the Female Elite category after hurdling a total of 60 obstacles along the 50-kilometer off-road race course. Meanwhile, her teammate, Staff Sergeant Andrico S. Mahilum copped third place in the Male Elite category.
 
The competition is organized by POSF, the sports body that promotes and leads obstacle sports, obstacle course racing, and related disciplines in the Philippines.
 
Col. John Oliver F. Gabun, director of the Special Service Center, Installation Management Command, lauded the two Army obstacle warriors for excellently representing the Philippine Army in the La Mesa competition. The SSC Chief has vowed to hone the skills of every Army athlete in support of the national sports development program.
