FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., attended the first DND-AFP Command Conference presided by DND Officer-in-Charge Senior Undersecretary Jose C. Faustino, Jr., at the GHQ Building, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo on July 11, 2022.
DND OIC Usec. Faustino laid out to the AFP top brass the directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. to defend “every square inch of the country’s territory.”
The DND OIC also discussed his priorities such as defending the nation’s territorial integrity, protecting the Filipino people, and ensuring state sovereignty. He also vowed to ensure the continued implementation of the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program which is now about to enter its third horizon.
DND OIC Usec. Faustino, whose military career spanned 38 years, served as the 56th AFP Chief of Staff from July 31, 2021 until Nov. 12, 2021. He also served as former acting Commanding General, Philippine Army in the same year.
