Army athletes stamped their class in the 2022 Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police-Philippine Coast Guard (AFP-PNP-PCG) Combative Sports Tournament held at the AFP Wellness Center in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City from July 14 to 15, 2022.
Team Army ruled taekwondo, arnis, and karatedo events, bagging four golds, two silvers and a bronze in the three combative sports. Team PNP placed second followed by the Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Air Force teams in third and fourth places, respectively.
The goodwill games were aimed at fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among military and other uniformed personnel.
Special Service Center Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded the Army athletes for sustaining the Team Army’s winning streak in recent sporting events. “Kudos to our Army athletes. Continued to embody excellence in every match,” the SSC Director said.
