Army athlete shines in New Clark City duathlon

A Philippine Army athlete ruled his category in the 2022 New Clark City (NCC) Duathlon at the NCC Complex in Capas, Tarlac on July 17, 2022.

Private First Class Robinson Esteves ruled the NCC Duathlon men's 30 to 34 years old age bracket, besting more than 600 professional and amateur athletes who competed in the race’s 12-kilometer run, 50-kilometer bike, and 6-kilometer run format.

The duathlon is hosted by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority and GoClark Sports and Events. The sporting event is aimed at transforming the NCC into a premier destination for cycling and running events.

Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded Pfc. Esteves for excelling in the competition after ruling his age category. The SSC Chief vowed to provide top-notch training facilities to sustain the winning momentum of Army athletes who continuously bring honor and pride not just to the organization but to the country as well.
