Army forum highlights spouse and family support for troops

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., highlighted the importance of strong spouse and familial support for troops during the Behavioral Health Awareness Program for Army Spouses held at the Philippine Army Officers Clubhouse on July 19, 2022.

Lt. Gen. Brawner, in his keynote address, discussed the Army’s mental health projects and programs geared at breaking down the stereotypes and barriers to mental health. “Our mental health programs provided our Army personnel with a comprehensive understanding of detecting, handling, and treating their own silent battles,” he said.

“As we collectively work in promoting inclusive and accessible mental health, let us ensure that no army family will be left behind. We are together in this journey,” the Army Chief added.

The Behavioral Health Awareness Program for Army Spouses was spearheaded by Mrs. Melody Mariele V. Brawner, spouse of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. and adviser of the Philippine Army Officers' Ladies Club, Inc., in cooperation with the Philippine Army Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel and the Office of the Army Chief Surgeon.
