Army athletes bagged four medals in the 1st Mayor Inday Amy Olegario National Invitational Table Tennis Cup from July 22 to 24, 2022 at the Ipil Multi-purpose Government Center in Taway, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Private Sendrina Andrea J. Balatbat ruled the women’s singles open while Army athletes bagged podium finishes in two team categories and another singles event. The Philippine Army team emerged as the second runner-up in both the men’s and women’s team events while Corporal Rodolfo M. Quijano bagged the second runner-up distinction in the executive open singles category.
Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded Army athletes for their victory in the said ping-pong tournament. “Kudos on your victory! Your decisive gameplay, strategic thinking and unrelenting persistence will sustain your path towards future wins,” the SSC Director remarked.
