The Philippine Army (PA) and the Indonesian Army - Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) held the 28th INDOPHIL Army Working Group Meeting at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila on July 28, 2022.
TNI AD Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Training for Military Cooperation Brig. Gen. Thevi A. Zebua and Philippine Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans Col. Benjamin L. Leander spearheaded the meeting which is alternately hosted by the two armies. The bilateral meeting is geared at reviewing and assessing INDOPHIL activities conducted for the year and developing bilateral engagements for the succeeding year.
It can be noted that PA and TNI-AD elite units recently conducted bilateral training exercises in West Java that focused on counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations. The two land forces are also preparing to hold the Brigade Combat Team training activity aimed at enhancing combined arms operations next month.
PA and TNI-AD bilateral activities are anchored on the Amended Terms of Reference (TOR) signed in December 2016. The Amended TOR laid the guidelines and rules of procedure between the two land forces.
