AFP, Army discuss education, training and doctrine development

The Philippine Army, through the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education (G8), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Training, and Doctrine (J8) held staff talks at the Army Intelligence Regiment’s headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on July 29, 2022.
 
AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Training and Doctrine, J8, Commodore Donn Anthony L. Miraflor, and Philippine Army Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education, G8, Col. Arsenio DC Sadural spearheaded the staff talks that focused on apprising the Philippine Army (PA) officers on new AFP education, training and doctrine-related plans and policies; sharing of best practices and lessons learned; and resolving education, training and doctrine-related issues and challenges.
 
Col. Sadural, during the staff talks, recommended the increase in the annual intake of PA students in the Command and General Staff Course handled by the AFP Command and General Staff College. He also discussed PA’s compliance with AFP’s education, training and doctrine development imperatives.
 
The staff talks also delved into the enhancement of the doctrine development system through a 10-year doctrine roadmap and the further development and expansion of training facilities and systems geared at transforming recruits into well-trained, well-disciplined, and well-equipped soldiers.
 
Commodore Miraflor and Col. Sadural likewise discussed the development of the Combat Readiness Training Areas which are envisioned to serve as venues for joint, intra-agency, and combined arms training as well multinational training exercises with partner foreign armed forces.
