Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., lauded the 7th Infantry “Kaugnay” Division for serving as the vital link to peace and progress in Central and Northern Luzon as the division marked its 34th founding anniversary in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on August 1, 2022.
“For 34 committed years, the valiant men and women of the 7th Infantry Division have remained true to their moniker of ‘Kaugnay’ in serving the Filipino people as a professional, dependable, and responsive Army force,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said. The Army leadership lauded the Kaugnay troopers for serving as a vital link of peace and progress for the people in their area of responsibility.
It can be noted that the division gained significant ground against state enemies last year with the neutralization of 46 CPP-NPA Terrorists (CNTs) and the recovery of 73 firearms that curtailed the rebels' firepower.
The Army Chief also commended the division for launching prompt and timely humanitarian assistance and relief efforts for families affected by the magnitude-7 quake that shook the Ilocos Region and Cordillera last week.
“Indeed, similar to your unit’s insignia—the rising sun which provides a hopeful present and a promising future for the communities you serve, this year’s theme '7ID@34: Advocating The Kaugnay Spirit' is a distinct manifestation of your unit’s credibility as the people’s partner for peace and progress,” the CGPA remarked.
