Incoming and outgoing South Korean defense attaches render courtesy calls at HPA

South Korea’s outgoing defense attaché Lt. Col. Jung Hoon Bae and his successor Lt. Col. Jai-suk Kim rendered a joint courtesy call on Acting Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Roy M. Galido at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 3, 2022.
 
Lt. Col. Bae, during the discussion with Maj. Gen. Galido talked about the South Korean government’s donation of a Multiple Launch Rocket System which will bolster the Philippine Army’s territorial defense capabilities. Maj. Gen. Galido and the outgoing South Korean defense attaché likewise tackled the education exchange programs aimed at enhancing the professional skills of both armies' key personnel. Moreover, Lt. Col. Bae conveyed his invitation to the Philippine Army to participate in the Defense Expo slated for next month in Goyong, South Korea.
 
Maj. Gen. Galido, for the Philippine Army's part, talked about the long-standing partnership between the two armies that date back to when the Philippines sent troops as part of the United Nations force that defended South Korea from combined North Korea and Chinese armies in the 1950s. He likewise thanked Lt. Col. Bae for his efforts in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Philippine Army and the Republic of Korean Army.
