Army holds pre-deployment orientation for newly minted officers

The Philippine Army, through the Army Personnel Management Center (APMC), held a pre-deployment orientation for 136 newly minted officers prior to their field deployment at the Philippine Army Officers' Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 4, 2022.

The Army’s 136 incoming platoon leaders include 104 members of the Philippine Military Academy “Bagsik-Diwa” Class of 2022, 24 members of the first-ever class of Officer Candidate Course-Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (OCC-ROTC), two graduates of a foreign service academy, and six others from earlier OCC classes.

APMC Director Col. Patrick De Villa shared professional and leadership advice to the new young lieutenants as they embark on their field assignments.

“The solution or how to find the solution is already in you. It will not be easy but you will find it in you to solve, adapt, and get through. It will be challenging but it will be fulfilling,” Col. De Villa said in his keynote address.

“You were taught discipline, you were taught leadership, you had the best training the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine Army have,” he added.
