Army prepares for FVR state funeral

The Philippine Army joined other Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) major services in the state funeral rehearsal for the inurnment of the late 12th president and commander-in-chief Fidel Valdez Ramos from the Heritage Park to the Libingan ng mga Bayani, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 5, 2022.
 
The Headquarters Security and Escort Battalion joined more than 100 servicemen in rehearsing the carrying of the casket, walk towards the caisson, and the march towards the inurnment site at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. The inurnment ceremony will be simple yet solemn in accordance with the wishes of the former first family.
 
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte, diplomats, business sector and civil society leaders, former Cabinet members and elected officials have paid their last respects to the former president who passed away on July 31, 2022 at the age of 94.
 
The National Flag is being flown at half-staff in all Army camps and installations nationwide until August 10, 2022 in accordance with the ten-day mourning period declared by President Marcos on August 1, 2022.
