Army reservists, ROTC cadets continue Bayanihan efforts for quake victims

Army reservists and Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets continue Bayanihan efforts for quake-stricken families in Abra province on August 4, 2022, more than a week after a magnitude-7 tremor shook Northern Luzon.

Reservists and ROTC cadets of the 1402nd Community Defense Center (1402CDC), 14th Regional Community Defense Group joined hands with other government workers and volunteers in hauling and transporting aid from two stations in Bangued: the Department of Social Welfare and Development warehouse in Zone 5 and Camp Juan Villamor in Barangay Calaba.

1402CDC reservists and ROTC cadets also assisted in transporting 120 sacks of rice and 40 boxes of essential items donated to the quake-stricken families in the upland town of Licuan-Baay.

Army reservists have been playing a crucial role in humanitarian assistance and disaster-response efforts for calamity victims and other nation-building initiatives. The Army leadership has vowed to further enhance and develop reserve units to serve as effective force multipliers to active troops during times of calamities and other national emergencies.
