Army aviators transport personnel, equipment from Mindanao to Bicol

Army aviators flew from Zamboanga International Airport in southwestern Mindanao to Legazpi City International Airport in the Bicol Region in an eight-day series of flight missions to transport essential cargo and personnel, the Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija-based Aviation Regiment announced on August 5, 2022.
 
The Special Mission Aviation Company spearheaded a series of flight missions utilizing two fixed-wing aircraft. The Aeroscout Company transported more than 200 kilograms of cargo from Zamboanga City to Legazpi City amid adverse weather conditions throughout the route from July 27, 2022 to August 3, 2022.
 
Transport of personnel and equipment to various locations of the country is one of the core capabilities of the Aviation Regiment. This allows ground force commanders to execute their missions and other tasks swiftly and more effectively. The series of long-distance flight missions demonstrates the skills and capabilities of Army aviators in accomplishing ground support tasks.
 
The regiment has been conducting a series of training to further capacitate and enhance the skills of Army aviators in line with the command guidance of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., to enhance soldiers’ skills and unit capabilities. The Army leadership has likewise committed to procuring additional air assets for the regiment to bolster its mission-effectiveness.
