Army fetes new Brigadier Generals

The Philippine Army rendered arrival honors and an 11-gun salute for six new brigadier generals who are leading various infantry and engineering brigades across the country at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 9, 2022.
 
Acting Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Roy M. Galido, who represented Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., oversaw the ceremony wherein spouses donned the first star on the new general officers which include Brig. Gen. Jovencio F. Gonzales, Commander of the 602nd Infantry Brigade, 6th Infantry Division; Brig. Gen. Giovani T. Franza, Commander of the 1102nd Infantry Brigade, 11th Infantry Division; Brig. Gen. Joseph Norwin D. Pasamonte, Commander of the 703rd Infantry Brigade, 7th Infantry Division; Brig. Gen. Randy F. Fajilagutan, 54th Engineer Brigade Commander; Brig. Gen. Francis Marlon S. Wong, 52nd Engineer Brigade Commander; and Brig. Gen. Proceso S. Rebancos, 53rd Engineer Brigade Commander.
 
“I congratulate our promotees for reaching the star rank in their military careers. This momentous day is a testament to their professionalism, service and excellence in their respective areas of responsibilities,” Maj. Gen. Galido said in his speech on behalf of the Army Commanding General.
 
“As you are entrusted with the rank of Brigadier General in the Philippine Army, may the new star you proudly bear on your shoulders manifest your faithful service to the flag, the nation, and the Filipino people,” Maj. Gen. Galido added.
