VCPA talks to newly minted platoon leaders

Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Camilo Z. Ligayo told newly minted 136 Army officers to “take courage as shield” in his speech before the upcoming platoon leaders at the Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 16, 2022.

In his keynote speech, Maj. Gen. Ligayo shared his words of wisdom to the young second lieutenants, as he called on them to “take courage as a shield in pushing their presence forward.” The Army Vice Commander emphasized that courage is innate within them.

Maj. Gen. Ligayo told the upcoming platoon leaders that will lead around 30 men upon their field deployment. The Army Vice Commander said that as officers, they will always face the challenge of effectively balancing mission accomplishment and troops’ morale and welfare. “As leaders, you are sometimes required to put more weight on one or the other. When faced with that dilemma, use your sound judgment,” he remarked.
