AGH welcomes new commanding officer

The Army General Hospital (AGH) welcomed its new commanding officer in a change of command ceremony presided by Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group (HHSG) Commander Brig. Gen. Rosalio V. Pompa at Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 18, 2022.

Col. Manuel Fidel M. Magtira took the helm of the Army’s premier hospital, succeeding Col. Jonna D. Dalaguit who will now assume as commanding officer of the Victoriano Luna General Hospital, the Quezon City-based AFP Medical Center.

Brig. Gen. Pompa, in his keynote speech, lauded the Army’s medical and healthcare professionals whom he called the “unsung heroes” for their crucial role in preserving the force during the pandemic. “Going way above and behind your sworn duties as both doctors and military professionals, the lives of military personnel, their dependents and other civilians are in your hands,” Brig. Gen. Pompa remarked.
Brig. Gen. Pompa likewise commended Col. Dalaguit for her vital role in the procurement of much-needed medical equipment such as CT scan and 2D echocardiography machines as he called on Col. Magtira to relentlessly pursue the professional development of AGH’s medical and healthcare personnel.

“May you continue the best practices of your predecessors as you actively lead AGH. There will be many challenges ahead of you. The fight against the pandemic is far from over but I know with your years of experience, you can surmount any adversities,” Brig. Gen. Pompa told Col. Magtira.
