Army helps rebuild quake-hit homes in Abra

The Philippine Army, through the 5th Infantry Division, deployed teams on August 21, 2022 to help rebuild houses damaged by the magnitude-7 quake that jolted the province of Abra nearly a month ago.
 
The 503rd Infantry Brigade, 5ID sent-off four carpentry teams tasked to rebuild damaged houses in the quake epicenter of Abra. The teams, in close coordination with local government units, have conducted damage assessment of damaged houses in four towns that bore the brunt of quake damage.
 
Army units in Northern Luzon launched humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts for quake victims in close coordination with various government agencies and non-government organizations in the wake of the destructive tremor that jolted northern Luzon on the morning of July 27, 2022. Likewise, Army reservists have been mobilized to assist in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations for quake-stricken communities in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley.
