Army leadership strengthens preparedness against cyberattacks

In observance of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Office of Assistant Chief of Staff for Command and Control Communications, and Cyber Systems of the Philippine Army, hosted the Cybersecurity Symposium for Executives at Philippine Army Officers Club House, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on September 23, 2022.
 
With the theme, "Leaders at the Frontline of Cybersecurity", the activity provided awareness to the Army leadership on the current threats and trends in cybersecurity and increased their understanding of their roles as leaders in the command's cybersecurity efforts.
 
The symposium discussed different lectures on developing cyber capability and cyberspace operations to the Army top executives from the Command Group, General, Personal, Special, and Technical Staff as well as Functional Commands, Specialty Enablers, and Army-Wide Support and Separate Units. The Chief of Staff, Philippine Army, Maj. Gen. Roberto S Capulong highlighted in his speech that programs like the cybersecurity symposium are vital to enable Army leaders in building cyber defense and learning best practices in cybersecurity as the world digitizes.
 
Cybersecurity Awareness Month is observed annually during September to develop cybersecurity culture in the Philippine Army Major Units and HPA offices for beefing cyber defense posture in today's cyber-driven environment.
