Heroism of six combat-wounded Army troops recognized

Six combat-wounded troops who repulsed the series of attacks of CPP-NPA Terrorists in Barangay Carabalan, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental received Wounded Personnel Medals from DND Officer-in-Charge Usec. Jose C. Faustino, Jr., AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Bartolome Vicente O. Bacarro, and Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., at a hospital in Bacolod City on October 8, 2022.
 
Usec. Faustino lauded the bravery and selfless dedication of the combat-wounded troops from the 94th Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division for protecting the people of Himamaylan City against the extortion, deceptive recruitment of minors, and other illegal activities of communist terrorists. 3rd Infantry Division Commander Maj. Gen. Benedict M. Arevalo and 303rd Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Incocencio Pasaporte joined Usec. Faustino and the AFP top brass in the conferment rites.
 
It can be recalled that the series of clashes between soldiers and CNTs in Himamaylan City resulted in two fatalities and six injuries on the Army side.
