Army strengthens ties with Malaysian Army in a virtual meeting

The Philippine Army Working Group (AWG) joined the 35th and 36th Malaysia-Philippines Military Cooperation Working Group (MALPHI MCWG) in a two-day virtual meeting via video teleconferencing at the Santos Hall, Philippine Army Officers’ Clubhouse, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on October 19-20, 2022.
The AWG is composed of members from the Army’s Command Group, General Staff, Personal Staff, Special Staff, and Special Enablers. The virtual conference covered mutual consultation and coordination on matters about training exercises, development of the framework, bilateral exercise activities, and identification of army training education courses, symposiums, social, and sporting activities to foster good relations and boost both countries’ defense diplomacy.
The MALPHI MCWG covers military cooperation in terms of training based on the concept of reciprocity, exchange of information on training programs, military exercises, and military personnel. The working group encompasses army-related activities aimed at enhancing army-to-army cooperation between the Malaysian Army and the Philippine Army.
