HHSG welcomes new commander

The Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, Philippine Army welcomed its new commander in a Change of Command Ceremony presided over by the Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., on October 24, 2022, at Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
 
Col. Moises M. Nayve, Jr., took the helm as the new commander of the HHSG from Acting Commander Col. Napoleon Z. De Vera. Both belong to the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sambisig” Class of 1991.
 
Beforehand, Col. Nayve held diverse military positions such as the Chief of the Army Adjutant; Commandant of the Special Forces School, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne); Commander of the 4th Special Forces Battalion; Chief of Academy Staff of the PMA; Deputy Commander of SFR(A) and Deputy Brigade Commander of the 902nd Infantry Brigade, 9th Infantry Division. He holds a Master's in Public Management from the Development Academy of the Philippines and a Master's in Defense Analysis from the US Naval Postgraduate School.
 
Meanwhile, Col. De Vera, who served as the HHSG acting commander since September 2022, will retain his position as the Deputy of HHSG. He also held key staff posts such as Chief of the Governance and Strategy Management Office, 7th Infantry Division; Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence of the 8th Infantry Division (8ID) and Battalion Commander of the 14th Infantry Battalion, 8ID. He holds two Master’s degrees: National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines and Public Management from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
 
“To our men and women of team HHSG, I urge you to entrust your confidence, commitment, and support to your capable and competent new group commander, Col. Nayve as he will now lead and serve with you in the forthcoming months here in the Army’s Headquarters,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said in his remarks.
