Army prepares for the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng

The Philippine Army's Disaster Response Units (DRUs) are on standby alert for the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) missions on the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng on October 29, 2022, at the Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.

The Army leadership prepared 21 DRUs, 2 Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) teams, 3 aircraft, and 12 military trucks that would readily be deployed to various Unified Commands in nearby areas and provinces for rescue and relief operations. Tropical Storm Paeng is the fourth tropical cyclone this October.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. made sure of the functional preparedness of the Army’s DRU teams in assisting the Filipinos in typhoon-affected areas. “The Philippine Army is prepared and ready to give service when needed. The sacrifices of the Army troops are for the Filipinos and the country."
