Philippine Army team joins Special Forces drills in Hawaii

A Philippine Army (PA) team joined the U.S. Army Observer Controller-Trainer (OC-T) Team assigned to oversee a simulated hard landing of an attack helicopter deep behind enemy lines during the ongoing Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) Exercise in Oahu, Hawaii on November 4, 2022.

The PA team, together with the U.S. Special Forces OC-T Team, oversaw the survival, evasion, resistance and escape (SERE) tactics employed by the pilots of the crashed attack helicopter at Oahu's North Range. The pilots, upon reaching a secure and defensible position deep within enemy lines, were rescued after linking up with a Special Forces extraction team.

The Philippine Army is currently participating in the month-long multinational training exercise that aims to foster camaraderie and interoperability among allied armies from across the Indo-Pacific Region.
