CGPA meets ASEAN Army chiefs in Vietnam

The Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., attended the 23rd ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) hosted by Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) on November 10, 2022 at Hung Vuong Convention Hall, Foreign Relations Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.
 
The Chiefs of Army were welcomed by Senior Lt. Gen. Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of General Staff, VPA and Deputy Minister of Defense. The annual meeting was composed of the Army leaders from Southeast Asian Nations from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
 
With the theme, “ASEAN Armies cohesively collaborate for peace”, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of General Staff, VPA and Chair of ACAMM 2022, presided the meeting with other representatives of the Armies who shared their best practices to further promote regional cooperation.
 
Lt. Gen. Brawner conveyed his utmost gratitude to all the ASEAN Army chiefs who further strengthened the ties through regional convergence. “Together, as One Team ASEAN, we shall continue to emerge victorious over the regional security challenges, and maintain lasting peace, security, and sustainable progress in the ASEAN Region”.
 
 
For the 24th ACAMM, the Royal Thai Army will chair and host the annual ASEAN meeting in 2023.
