Army Sergeant Major participates in 10th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting in Vietnam

The Philippine Army Sergeant Major Chief Master Sgt. Rogelio P. Caacbay participated in the 10th ASEAN Sergeant Major Annual Meeting (ASMAM) on November 9-11, 2022 at Foreign Relations Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.
 
All Sergeant Majors of the ASEAN Army were welcomed by Senior Col. Duane Qui Nam, Director Institute for Defence International Relations (IDIR). The ASMAM is participated annually by the ASEAN NCO leadership from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
 
With the theme “ASEAN Armies cohesively collaborate for peace,” Senior Col. Nguyen Le Phuong, Deputy IDIR of Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Defense Minister, presided the meeting with the Army Sergeant Majors who shared professional experiences to enhance the strong relationship in the ASEAN region.
 
Chief Master Sgt. Caacbay delivered the Philippine Army’s confidence-building measures and initiatives to the ASMAM which further support collaboration and practical cooperation for the combined capabilities and responses of the Armies.
 
For the 11th ASMAM, the Royal Thai Army will chair and host the next annual meeting in 2023.
