The Philippine Army athletics team clinched two gold medals and bagged a silver medal in the finale of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) National Relay Series on November 19, 2022 at the Philsports Complex Track and Field Oval in Pasig City.
Cpl. Macrose Dichoso snagged a gold medal in the 5,000-meter run women's elite category while her teammate Pvt. Jelly Dianne Paragile clinched another gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles women's elite category. Moreover, Pvt. Paragile, along with Sgt. Aris O. Africa, Cpl. Jaidal Abdulmajid and Pvt. Marylyn A. Avila bagged the silver medal in the 4x400m mixed relay.
Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver Gabun lauded the Army Athletics Team for their strong finish in the PATAFA National Relay Series that saw the action of elite athletics teams from across the country. “Continue to train hard and showcase the Army’s brand of excellence in your chosen sport,” the SSC chief remarked.
