The Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., joins the entire nation in commemorating the 159th birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bonifacio Monument in Caloocan City on November 30, 2022.
With the year’s theme, “Bonifacio 2022: Kabayanihan at Pagtindig sa Makabagong Panahon,” the ceremony was led by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) on which simultaneous flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies were held across the country. President and Commander-in-Chief Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., presided over the ceremony along with the defense top leadership including Department of National Defense Officer-in-Charge Senior Undersecretary Jose C. Faustino, Jr., and Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Vicente Bartolome Bacarro.
President Marcos Jr., highlighted in his remarks the modern Filipino heroes who sacrificed their lives in times of duty, “Habang patuloy tayong nakikibaka sa mga hamon ng modernong panahon, nawa’y maging halimbawa si Bonifacio at ang ating mga bayani noon at ngayon upang magtagumpay tayo sa ating mga hangarin. Sama-sama nating harapin ang mga hamon ng panahon ngayon ng may pagmamahal sa bayan, determinasyon, tapang, karangalan upang maitaguyod natin ang isang Pilipinas na tunay na nais nating ipagmalaki. Mabuhay si Gat. Andres Bonifacio! Mabuhay ang lahing Pilipino!,” said President Marcos Jr.
