Army holds 2022 Strategic Communication Forum

The Philippine Army conducted a Strategic Communication Forum that laid the foundation for a new communication plan that will serve as the driving force in sustaining the strong public support for the organization on December 8, 2022 at the Somerset Central, Makati City.

Senator and Army reserve Captain Robin Padilla—who served as the event’s guest of honor and speaker—relayed his commitment and support to the Philippine Army by helping communicate to the public the organization’s thrusts, programs, and accomplishments. The Army-wide Strategic Communication Committee chairpersons and their civilian counterparts tackled during the forum the synchronization of communication efforts and strategies to meet the informational demands of various audiences and strengthen collaboration to assimilate new ideas from diverse disciplines and practices.

Three resource persons—Dr. Herbert B Rosana, Chairperson of the Department of Peace Studies, Bicol University; Ms. Gigie Arcilla-Agtay, The Daily Tribune editor-in-chief; and DBM Undersecretary for Media Affairs and Community Relations Goddes Hope Libiran—also shared insights on peace-buiding measures, public relations management and crisis communication strategies, and communicating the Army transformation journey to the public.

It can be noted that the Philippine Army is now entering the Army Transformation Roadmap’s third and final base camp wherein it aims to achieve its full potential as a world-class land force by 2028. The new strategic communication plan is envisioned to play a vital role in sustaining the organization's long-term vision of becoming cross-domain capable and multi-mission ready by the year 2040.
