The Philippine Army welcomed its new Chief of Staff on January 13, 2023, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.
Brig. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba formally assumed as the new Army Chief of Staff in an Assumption Ceremony. Prior to his new post, Brig. Gen. Camba led the 1002nd Brigade, 10th Infantry Division as well as other units such as the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel, OG1, PA, and the 2nd and 3rd Special Forces Battalion, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne). Brig. Gen. Camba is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Sambisig" Class of 1991.
The presiding officer Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. extended his well-wishes to Brig. Gen. Camba as he takes on a new role. He also expressed his appreciation to Maj. Gen. Jose Eriel M. Niembra for serving as the Acting Chief of Staff on top of his duty as the Acting Inspector General, Philippine Army
"To the staff, I encourage you to support Brig. Gen. Camba as you supported your previous Chiefs of Staff of the Philippine Army. I am very optimistic that with his expertise, Brig. Gen. Camba will be able to further elevate the quality of service we can provide to the Army personnel and the Filipino people," said Lt. Gen. Brawner in his message.
